Jacob Christensen

Jacob “Jake” Christensen was born and raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa.  He started gymnastics at age 4 and trained under Todd Crouse through his high school years at Abraham Lincoln High School.  He was named the Iowa State Gymnast of the Year in 2001 and joined the gymnastics team at the United States Military Academy at West Point that same year.  In 2005 Jake helped his team to win the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship title for the first time in 40 years and graduated that same year from West Point with a degree in Electrical Engineering.

Jake was commissioned as an officer and served six years in the United States Army including two combat tours to Iraq.  He received an honorable discharge while at the rank of Captain in 2011 and took a position at the Omega School of Gymnastics as the boy’s program director.  In 2017 he took ownership of the gym and renamed it the Omaha Gymnastics Academy.  He lives in Lincoln, NE with his family.  He coaches in the boys program at the south location.
