Competitive Teams

USAG Girls Developmental Team

The USA Gymnastics, Developmental program was developed with the belief that all athletes, regardless of their potential, must have a solid foundation of basic skills in order to advance safely. The program allows the gymnast to advance at her own pace. This demanding program requires talent, dedication and many hours of training.

The Developmental Program is organized into 10 different levels of training or competition. Competition is carried out at local, state, regional and national levels. OGA’s Team is composed of Level 2 through Level 10 gymnasts.

USAG Girls Xcel Team

The Xcel Program is designed to offer a broad-based, affordable competitive experience outside the traditional Developmental Program to attract and retain a diverse group of athletes.

The Xcel program is  organized in 5 different levels of training and competition. OGA’s Team is composed of Xcel Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond gymnasts.

The Development Program is organized into ten different levels of training or competition. Each level has multiple age groups and opportunities for participation and competition.

USAG TOPS/HOPES/JR & SR Elite

TOPS (Talent Opportunity Program), is a talent search and educational program for female gymnasts ages 7-10 and their coaches. During the months of June and July gymnasts age 7-10 are evaluated on physical abilities at the state or regional level.

HOPES provides athletes with an opportunity to compete the traditional Elite compulsory and a modified FIG Optional routine and includes an opportunity to qualify to the Challenge (HOPES division only). It is a ‘Pre’ Pre-Elite program.

The Elite Program is designed to provide competitive experiences for athletes aspiring to be on the National Team. These athletes follow the FIG (International Gymnastics Federation) rules and compete under a different scoring system.
